Charles André Jean Baptiste (Carlos Jean Baptiste) was born in Deschapelles, Haiti on August 16, 1965. As a child, he attended the "Collège La Providence", then the Lycée Alexandre Pétion. Like the late Michelange Altidor, he studied with Saincilus Ismael in the early 80s. He briefly attended the National School of Arts "ENARTS". Carlos is considered one of the best Haitian painters today. Carlos has won several awards for his work, including the Petion-bolivar Competition in which his painting "Braceros" won the first prize. He has exhibited in several countries in Europe and the Americas.
