Charles André Jean Baptiste (Carlos Jean Baptiste) was born in Deschapelles, Haiti on August 16, 1965. As a child, he attended la Collège La Providence, then Alexandre Pétion High School. Like the late Michelangelo Altidor, he studied with Saincilus Ismael in the early 1980s. He briefly attended the National School of Arts "ENARTS" . Carlos is considered one of the best Haitian painters today. Carlos has won several awards for his work, including the Petion-bolivar Competition in which his painting "Braceros" won first prize. He has exhibited in several countries in Europe and the Americas.
